We offer a full line of earth-friendly vinyls with a hand so realistic you will be hard pressed to believe it is faux leather. Also available is a wide array of American by-product leathers using the latest techniques for tanning hides and equipment that involves biodegradable resources. Please read further for more details about our sustainable fabric options:
Organic Cotton: Currently cotton is one of the world’s biggest offenders in the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers. As a result, environmentally conscious consumers are taking an interest in eco-friendly Organic Cotton. Organic Cotton is sustainable, renewable and biodegradable. No harmful pesticides or chemicals are used in either the growing or production of this upholstery. All organically grown cotton is compliant with the Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS).
Suede: Recycled plastic bottles are being used in an attempt to reclaim some of the waste products that are clogging our waterways and landfills. Eco-Friendly suede is certified to meet environmental Oeko-Tex 100 standards. All dyes and finishes used for production are recycled within the mill and are “safe to return” to the environment.
Bamboo Velvet: Bamboo is nature’s most sustainable resource. It is grown without pesticides or chemicals and is 100% biodegradable and recyclable. Villency Pure Design bamboo velvet is spun from fiber found inside the stalk of bamboo shoots. This adds to the extremely soft and silky hand. In addition, this cover option has high tensile strength, is very durable and is naturally anti-bacterial.
Hemp: Hemp is three times stronger than cotton. It boasts good abrasion resistance and exceptional durability. Further, it is anti-microbial and naturally resistant to mold, mildew and rot. Hemp blocks the sun’s UV rays more effectively than other fabrics and is less likely to fade over time.
Leather: Villency Pure Design leather comes from American by-product hides and every stage of the production process is monitored. We use the latest state-of-the-art techniques and tanning equipment that use biodegradable resources and conserve energy.
SOY CUSHIONS
Villency Contract cushions use a minimum of 20% plant based, soy materials, while keeping true to a contract standard. Cushions are available with or without recycled inner-coil springs. All of our cushions meet requirements for contract durability and CAL117 fire standards.
The soy cushion seats and backs of Villency Pure Design upholstery will last up to 3 times longer than foam cushions and are more resistant to breaking down and puddling or loosing their original shape over time. The tailored corners of our cushions are sharp and crisp. In addition, soy cushion springs are adjusted to a precise level of firmness and softness. Unlike a foam cushion, ours will be consistent every time.
STEEL
We use high quality recycled steels that are resourced domestically in North Carolina. All exposed steel is manually hand finished and handcrafted by local artisans in a facility that adheres to using “safe to return” materials and techniques.
